Cake Batter Pancakes :D

Cake Batter Pancakes with Sugar Glaze

Today on Pinterest, I found a combonation of two of my favorite foods of all time!….pancakes and birthday cake! Together, they make cake batter pancakes. 🙂 To make, all this requires is yellow cake batter, and a few ingredients needed to help them rise. Add sprinkles to your batter to add color to the recipe!

Cake Batter Pancakes:

makes about 12 pancakes

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

2/3 cup yellow cake mix

1 tablespoon sugar

3/4 teaspoon baking powder

pinch of salt

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-2 cups milk (I used vanilla almond milk)

assorted sprinkles

Combine flour, cake mix, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix. Add 1 cup of milk, egg and vanilla extract and stir until smooth. You want the batter to look like regular pancake batter; not too thin, not too thick. This will vary greatly on the brand of cake mix you use. Start with 1 cup of milk and add more if needed. I suggest a small taste test as well to see if the pancakes are flavored enough.

Preheat a skillet on medium heat (I use an electric grilled and turn it to 250 degrees). Fold desired amount of sprinkles into batter. Pour batter in 1/4 cup measurements onto skillet and let cook until bubbles form on top, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for 1 minute more. Serve with vanilla glaze.
Glaze

1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tablespoon milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

assorted sprinkles

Mix milk, extract and powdered sugar until glaze forms. You may need to add a little more sugar or water/milk to reach desired consistency. Mix into glaze and drizzle on pancakes.

….SHOUT OUT to my best friend!! Friends since babies, and she happens to love me enough to read my web design 1 blog, love you maddie! :*

Change of Heart– Cookie Mold

Today, I had a change of heart.  My love for pinterest has replaced my love for blogging about the team I spend 24/7 with. It turns out, if I blogged about every day of danz activity, I’d be repeating myself alot. So! Now i’m going to find something super sweet from pinterest that I wish I would have thought to come up with.

Cookie Cups for ice cream sundaes

Cookies happen to be my favorite food group, so when I found this picture on pinterest, I instantly loved it.

Take a muffin pan and flip it upside down. Wrap the baking cup with cookie dough and bake at normal cookie-making temperatures. When it’s done, you are left with cookie cup molds that can be used to hold ice cream or fruit!

Officer Routines

The three officers of the DanzTeam are Karen Alday, myself, and Destany Porter. In addition to the three team routines we are practicing for competition, the officers have three extra routines to compete with. Every Monday afternoon, from 4-6, we practice and clean these. It’s a long, tiring two hours that I do not look forward to, but somehow it always ends up being productive.

Our routines include:

Jazz- Starry Eyed

Lyrical- Daughters

Prop- Halloween theme song

Danzteam’s First Day Back

Basketball season is the calmest time of year for the DanzTeam, before we have to get serious about contest and Artist’s Garden in March and April. It’s nice to have a sort of break, but for the most part, no one really actually like basketball. This morning, we had one of our first practices back since Christmas break. We worked on homecoming hip-hop to perform tomorrow night at the Liberty vs Prestonwood basketball. It was easy to clean and is one of our favorite routines!
